Over the years, KFC has gained a reputation for being a restaurant that is willing to take a risk or two. This time around, KFC is unleashing a chicken and donut combination that comes in a basket or in sandwich form. Introducing the new Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts.
CHICKEN GOOD, DONUTS GOOD
The sandwich is made up of a boneless fried chicken fillet between two fresh glazed donuts.
The basket is a deconstructed version of the sandwich, with your choice of boneless or bone-in KFC chicken and two fresh glazed donuts.
While the combination of sweet and savoury is pretty common in fried chicken restaurants, it’s the first time that KFC is offering it.
AFTER SUCCESSFUL TEST RUN, NATIONWIDE ROLLOUT
Last year they had a test run in select restaurants in Virginia and Pittsburg, and I guess they found a favourable enough respond to roll it out all across the United States.
KFC’s press release describes the donut part of it as “glazed-to-order and served piping hot every single time.”
For those lucky KFC fans who live in Los Angeles, the new Fried Chicken & Donuts will be available at the Colonels Chicken & Donut Shop pop up on February 22.
NEW FRIED CHICKEN & DONUTS TO BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MARCH 16 ONLY
For the rest of us, we can get Fried Chicken & Donuts at all the other KFC locations across the US on February 24.
The new Kentucky Fried Chicken & Donuts will only be available until March 16, so if you want to try it, I suggest making plans to stand in line now!
Prices for the new KFC Fried Chicken & Donuts will be from $5.49 to $7.99. Incidentally, you can add them KFC donuts to any other meal item, if you are so inclined.
